AN INSIGHT INTO

'SUNSHINE' - KING'S BEACH, CALOUNDRA, QLD

WITH CHRISTINE CLARK

“Kings Beach Caloundra is a beautiful beach, ideal for all families, visitors and surfers alike."

"I wanted to portray the vibrant community of families, children and individuals enjoying our summer here on the Coast.

The weather was perfect with numerous, colourful umbrellas and a strong sense of sunlight, making the colours lively.”

“The painting is on Art Spectrum Blue Haze, glued to a board. First, a scribble of hot pink pastel over most of the board, followed by a wet with methylated spirits - giving a soft watercolour effect."

"Then I worked on the far distance towards the area of Bribie Island and the Pumicestone Passage. Next, clashing warm and cool blue for the ocean."

"The figures were a difficult task as there were two vanishing points to consider: far distant figures to foreground and far distant water to foreground. Figures and umbrellas were positioned before the sand - towels and bags after. I loved using the bright colours.”
