SANDRA
TEMPLE

Internationally recognised Australian artist Sandra Temple is well known for her highly sought-after wildlife works in all mediums , though throughout Australia she is equally well known for her ability to draw out the artist in each of her students.

Her paintings and sculptures capture not only the image of her subjects, but their lives, in a narrative inviting the viewer deep inside their private world. Sandra loves getting to know her subjects through hours of observation and life sketches and over her 30+ year career as an artist, she jokingly states her pencil ‘has travelled hundreds of thousands of kilometres’.

A member of many national and international wildlife and environmental groups, Sandra has pages of Awards and accolades as testament to her skills. She is an Australian Ambassador for Faber-Castell Pty Ltd and often tutors workshops to show the many ways to use their products. Her worldwile app was developed to enable artists who wanted to improve, to join her classes online.

Sandra lives on 5 acres of bushland outside of Brisbane. Kangaroos and wallabies often munch away outside her studio, and a microbat colony live in the shed roof.  Most mornings visitors will include cockatoos, galahs, corellas, rainbow lorikeets, magpies and honeyeaters.  It’s never quiet in the bush.
